Route 99 is the spine of the California Central Valley, bounded by the Sierra Nevada Mountains to the east and the Coastal Ranges to the west and covers 18,000 square miles. Travelling east, west, north and south from route 99, highways and roads are lined with farm structures that reflect traditional Central Valley architectural forms.
